UMYAF WebTeam Successfully Covers PCC ‘08 PDF Print E-mail

(24 November 2008) With just a couple of webcams and a lot of heart, UMYAF WebTeam forged on with live media streaming of the 2008 Philippines Central Conference recently held at Central UMC, Manila.

They met with various difficulties and physical obstructions: Minimal funding, negligible staff, unpredictable Internet connection and challenging viewers are just some of these trials. Despite multiple setbacks during the conference itself, UMCPhilippines.org had an all-time high of 827 visits.

(23 November 2008) As an overture to the gathering, over 30 church workers' children of various ages came together and sang before the PCC ’08 assembly yesterday.

Decamping to Perez Chapel afterwards, the meeting was presided over by Bing Canlas who was re-elected to the presidency. The three Episcopal areas were well represented

This coming November, from 18 to 23, the United Methodist Church in the Philippines will assemble as a legislative body. Individuals, both clergy and laity, representing the various Annual Conferences and Episcopal areas, will come together in Phils. Central Conference (PCC) and decide on our collective future as a Church.
